Directions for Adobe Acrobat

To provide high quality copies of the documents found at this site, the Small Business Environmental Home Page is in the process of converting all of the documents found at this website to "portable document format" (PDF). In order to view and/or print a specific document you will need the following:

  • A downloaded copy of the desired document in the "*.pdf" document format;
  • A software viewer capable of viewing PDF documents (i.e., Adobe Acrobat Reader).

Following is a general description of the Adobe Acrobat Reader and how to obtain a copy of this software to view documents found on this site.

Adobe Acrobat Reader

Adobe Acrobat Reader software is published by Adobe Systems, Inc. This software allows viewing, navigation and printing of PDF files. Versions of the document viewer are available for a number of operating platforms including DOS, Microsoft Windows®, Macintosh®, OS/2® and SunOS computer operating systems. It is designed to provide high quality files downloaded from Internet sites that provide these files in a "*.pdf" format. This software is available free from Adobe as long as you maintain the requirements of the software license. You may down load Acrobat Reader and use it at no charge. It is available directly from Adobe via http by clicking on the "Get Acrobat Reader" icon at http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html, or via ftp at ftp.adobe.com in the directory path: \pub\adobe\Acrobat\Applications\.

Note that the software files are quite large, from 1.5 Megabytes for the Windows version to 6.1 Mb for the UNIX version, so down loading will take some time to complete. General installation instructions may be found at the Adobe Acrobat homepage.
