  Alternative Fuels & Advanced Vehicles Data Center -- U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) comprehensive source for information on alternative fuels.  Collects operating information from vehicles running on alternative fuels, analyzes data, and makes them publicly available.  Maintains information on research reports conducted for Biofuels Systems Division and the Fuel Utilization Data and Analysis Division of the U.S. DOE Office of Alternative Fuels.

Beneficial Use Portal -- U.S. EPA/National Center for Manufacturing Sciences Centers web site providing resources for beneficial use of industrial byproducts.

Brownfields and Land Revitalization -- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Brownfields Initiative, an initiative to empower communities/other stakeholders to prevent, assess, clean up, and reuse industrial land to promote economic redevelopment. The site includes general information, initiatives and pilots, tools and contacts, and other related sites.

Building for Environmental and Economic Sustainability (BEES) -- The BEES (Building for Environmental and Economic Sustainability) software brings to your fingertips a powerful technique for selecting cost-effective, environmentally-preferable building products.  Developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology Engineering Laboratory, the tool is based on consensus standards and designed to be practical, flexible, and transparent.  Version 4.0 of the Windows-based decision support software, aimed at designers, builders, and product manufacturers, includes actual environmental and economic performance data for 230 building products.

By-Product Synergy Northwest -- The By-Product Synergy Northwest's mission is to identify and implement by-product synergies where the waste product of one becomes the feed stock for another, resulting in measurable business and environmental benefits.

Canadian Centre for Pollution Prevention (C2P2) -- Encourages actions that avoid or minimize the creation of pollutants and waste, to foster a healthier environment and a sustainable society.  Topics on the web site include:  news, C2P2 services (education, program support, research and writing, training, communication tools, event management), current projects, conferences and training, tools and resources, and contact information.

Center for Applied Rural Innovation (CARI) -- University of Nebraska (Lincoln) center that uses a systems approach to address challenges such as:   soil erosion, decline in water quality, increasing costs and finite supplies of fossil fuels based inputs, decline of rural communities, increasing consumer concern about food and safety and nutrition and the environment, increasing state and federal legislation restricting chemical use, and environment-degrading practices.

Center for Indoor Environments (CIE) (PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION-CHECK BACK SOON) -- U.S. EPA program that promotes human health, comfort, and productivity through managing air quality in indoor environments.  Its goal is to ensure safe, healthy, and productive indoor environments.

Center for Sustainable Systems (CSS) -- Interdisciplinary research and education center in the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and Environment.

Clean Cities -- U.S. DOE program that provides framework for working with coalitions of local stakeholders to help develop the alternative fuel vehicles (AFV) industry and integrate into the larger planning process.  Click here to link to individual Clean Cities Coalitions.

CleanerSolutions Database -- The CleanerSolutions Database links performance evaluations to specific testing parameters and environmental assessments based on the testing performed at the Toxic Use Reduction Institute's Surface Solution Laboratory (SSL).  SSL was designed with the capability to evaluate the effectiveness of different cleaning chemistries and equipment for a variety of substrates and contaminants.  The goal of SSL is to assist industry in the search for safer cleaning processes by developing and promoting safer alternatives to hazardous solvents with a special focus on aqueous/semi-aqueous cleaners and state-of-the-art surface cleanliness analyses.

CleanGredients -- Online database of institutional and industrial (I&I) cleaning ingredients, a one-stop-shop for green formulation.  The database aligns broad environmental and human health goals with the cleaning product industry's business objectives and will support formulators in formulating products with human and environmental health benefits, whether to meet corporate internal objectives, more stringent regulations, voluntary product recognition programs, or national and international eco-labels.

Cleaning Industry Research Institute -- Independent and impartial institute involved in cleaning and building maintenance research.

CLEANTOOL -- European wide database for parts cleaning, metal surface cleaning, component cleaning and degreasing, based on real processes in numerous European companies.

Coalbed Methane Outreach Program -- U.S. EPA program that encourages coal mines to recover and use or sell coal mine methane as an energy source.  Provides contacts, program overview, program news, documents, and a list of select coal mine methane recovery and use experts in the U.S.

Coating Alternatives Guide -- Web-based pollution prevention tool for small- and medium-sized paints and coatings businesses and technical assistance providers at federal and state levels.  Provides recommendations on low-VOC/low-HAP alternative coating technologies that can be used to meet regulations or to better performance.  Developed by the Pollution Prevention Program at Research Triangle Institute in cooperation with the U.S. EPA Air Pollution Prevention and Control Division (APPCD).

Consortium on Green Design and Manufacturing -- Encourages multidisciplinary research and education on environmental and pollution prevention issues in critical industries.  Located at the University of California, Berkeley.

Design for the Environment -- U.S. EPA voluntary program designed to help businesses incorporate environmental consideration into the design and redesign of products, processes, and technical and management systems.

Earth 911 -- Public/private partnership with U.S. EPA, all 50 states, and organizations and companies.  Provides community specific environmental information such as the locations of recycling centers for oil, batteries, and other recyclables.  The site includes general information such as small business recycling tips, news updates, and links.

Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) -- System to help purchasers in the public and private sectors evaluate, compare, and select desktop computers, notebooks, and monitors based on their environmental attributes.  EPEAT provides a clear and consistent set of performance criteria for the design of products, and provides an opportunity for manufacturers to secure market recognition for efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its products.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) -- U.S. DOE comprehensive source for energy efficiency and renewable energy information.   Online library offers news and information about energy conservation methods and technologies. 

Energy Savers -- U.S. government web site providing information on saving energy in homes, businesses, vehicles, and industrial plants.  Resources are linked across federal agencies for homeowners, contractors and builders, building managers, realtors, state agencies, drivers and fleet managers, and industry managers. 

Energy Star -- Voluntary partnership between U.S. DOE, U.S. EPA, product manufacturers, local utilities, and retailers.  Partners promote efficient products by labeling with the logo and educating consumers.  Also offers other voluntary programs that promote energy efficiency, reduce air pollution, and save money for businesses.

Environmental Accounting Project -- U.S. EPA voluntary program to encourage and motivate businesses to understand the full spectrum of their environmental costs, and integrate these costs into decisionmaking.

Environmental Sustainability Resource Center -- U.S. EPA center providing pollution prevention support to the states in Regions III and IV.  Provides access to fact sheets, technical reports, case studies, and videotapes, as well as state program information and highlights and industry sector information.

  Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) -- The EPP Database was launched in 1999 in response to customer demand for a one stop shop for environmental information on products and services the federal government buys.  The database contains over 130 local, state, and federal contract and policy specifications, 523 product environmental performance standards/guidelines, 25 lists of products identified as "green" by other organizations, and 155 links to additional useful information on products and services.

EPPnet -- The EPPnet listserv was established by the Northeast Recycling Council, Inc. (NERC) in 1998.  EPPnet links federal, state, and local environmental officials; and private procurement specialists charged with purchasing green products and services and developing policies for the procurement of these products. EPPnet is intended to provide subscribers with quick access to information, such as product specifications, vendors of particular products, pricing, and strategies to achieve recycled product procurement goals and federal procurement policies.

Farm*A*Syst -- Partnership between government agencies (USDA Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and U.S. EPA) and private businesses to prevent pollution on farms, ranches, and in homes using confidential environmental assessments.  Issues that can be addressed with Farm*A*Syst include:  quality of well water, new wells, and abandoned wells; livestock waste storage; storage and handling of petroleum products; managing hazardous wastes; and nutrient management.

GreenBiz.com -- Provides resources, tools, and information on sustainable business practices from a variety of entities, including companies, nongovernmental organizations, trade associations, government agencies, and academic institutions.  Web site of GreenBiz.com, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization created and operated by Green Business Network, a project of The National Environmental Education & Training Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC.

Green Chemistry Program -- U.S. EPA program promoting the design, manufacture, and use of environmentally  benign chemical products and processes that prevent pollution and reduce environmental and human health risks.

Green Cleaning Pollution Prevention Calculator -- The Green Cleaning Pollution Prevention Calculator quantifies the projected environmental benefits of purchasing and using "green" janitorial services and products.  It is designed to forecast the environmental benefits of reducing chemical use by doing some or all pollution prevention measures typically involved in the routine interior cleaning of an office building.  This tool also enables users to identify which green cleaning measures will have the greatest impact in reducing their use of hazardous chemicals and in preventing pollution.

Green Design Institute (Carnegie Mellon University) -- Develops practical pollution prevention technologies and lowers costs by recycling scarce resources, using fewer raw materials, and creating better products.   Forms partnerships with industrial corporations, foundations, and government agencies to develop joint research and education programs that improve environmental quality while encouraging sustainable development.

Green Electronics Council -- Partners with environmental organizations, government agencies, manufacturers, and other interested stakeholders to improve the environmental and social performance of electronic products.

GreenGopher -- The mission of GreenGopher.com is to educate and provide clean and green resources for facilities, EHS, procurement, and manufacturing professionals.  GreenGopher.com helps these professionals identify solutions that will improve their company's stewardship and profitability.

Green Meetings -- U.S. EPA site providing access to information that can help you green your conferences.  The information can assist meeting planners, suppliers of meeting services, meeting hosts who contract with planners, and meeting attendees.

Green Power Partnership -- Voluntary government-industry program supported by U.S. EPA.  Partners in the program pledge to switch to green power for a portion of their electricity needs within one year.  In return, EPA provides technical assistance and public recognition.  Green power is electricity generated by renewable energy sources including solar, wind, water (hydro), geothermal, biomass (combustion of organic materials), and biogas (combustion of naturally-produced methane).  The web site includes information about what green power is, the green power market, joining the partnership, green power resources, green power locator, a list of partners, and green power leadership awards.

Green Star -- Nonprofit organization that encourages businesses, schools, and government agencies to incorporate techniques of waste reduction, energy conservation, and pollution prevention in their places of business.  Businesses that enroll in the program must complete 12 of 18 standards.

Health Care Without Harm -- Health Care Without Harm is an international coalition of hospitals and health care systems, medical professionals, community groups, environmental groups, and environmental health organizations that are working to implement ecologically sound and healthy alternatives to health care practices that pollute the environment and contribute to disease.

I

Illinois Sustainable Technology Center -- The Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (ISTC) is a Division of the Institute of Natural Resource Sustainability at the University of Illinois.  ISTC is a change agency that performs research, spreads awareness, and facilitates implementation regarding practices, technology, and systems that improve sustainability.  The ISTC has been providing assistance to Illinois businesses and the public since 1985, including sophisticated analytical laboratory support, a library and clearinghouse on environmental  and pollution prevention issues, technical assistance, and research funding to explore a wide range of issues impacting waste management in Illinois.

  International Institute for Sustainable Development -- Provides access to files, documents, and databases on sustainable development.

  Iowa Waste Reduction Center (IWRC) -- Assists small business with environmental compliance and pollution prevention, including onsite reviews, applied research, and training.

Janitorial Products Pollution Prevention Project -- This EPA-sponsored pilot project evaluated pollution prevention opportunities available to small contractors and individual custodians working in the janitorial industry in Richmond, California. 

Joint Service Pollution Prevention and Sustainability Library -- Library maintained by the Naval Facilities Engineering Services Center, including a pollution prevention opportunity handbook, pollution prevention equipment program handbook, environmental products catalog, Joint Group on Pollution Prevention information, Joint Service Technical Library Software System, and technical reports.

Kentucky Pollution Prevention Center (KPPC) -- Kentucky's primary resource to help businesses, industries, and other organizations develop environmentally sustainable, cost-saving solutions for improved efficiency.  Based at the University of Louisville J.B. Medical Industry Waste Prevention Roundtable (MIRT) -- The MIRT network brings together professionals in the medical industry and government to exchange ideas on innovative practices and technologies to prevent and reduce waste - lab, solid, and hazardous - and conserve natural resources and energy. 

Mid-Atlantic Pollution Prevention -- Region 3 pollution prevention web page.  Includes contacts, how to do pollution prevention, industry programs and technical assistance, waste exchanges, student information, and financial assistance.

Mid-Atlantic Waste Minimization -- The Waste Minimization National Plan emphasizes source reduction and environmentally sound recycling over waste treatment and disposal.  The goal  is to prevent transfers of chemical releases from one medium (air, water, land) to another.  Region 3 is working closely with the states (DE, MD, PA, VA, and WV) and the District of Columbia to implement these goals.

National Center for Environmental Innovation (NCEI) -- The National Center for Environmental Innovation is now the Office of Strategic Environmental Management (OSEM).  NCEI promoted innovative approaches for better environmental results through pilot testing, evaluation, and diffusion in partnership with other EPA programs and regions, states, businesses, communities, and other interested parties.  Links are provided for key products and publications from the program.  Note that most of these pages are no longer updated and are intended for reference only.

National Compliance Assistance Centers -- Links to U.S. EPA Small Business Compliance Assistance Centers.  Specific industry sectors include:   printing, metal finishing, automotive services and repair, printed wiring boards, small chemical manufacturers, agriculture, paints and coatings, transportation, and local governments.

National Pollution Prevention Roundtable -- Provides national forum for promoting the development, implementation, and evaluation of efforts to avoid, eliminate, or reduce pollution at the source.  Includes descriptions of the organization and its functions, information on federal pollution prevention legislation, conferences, workgroups, partners, and publications.

Natural Gas STAR Program -- Voluntary partnership between U.S. EPA and the natural gas industry designed to find cost-effective ways of reducing emissions of methane.

NEWMOA Assistance & Pollution Prevention (A & P2) Program -- The Northeast Assistance and Pollution Prevention Roundtable (NEWMOA) was formed in 1989 to enhance the capabilities of the state and local government environmental officials in the northeast to implement effective multimedia source reduction and assistance programs to promote sustainability and improvement in public health and the environment.  The Roundtable:  manages a regional roundtable of state and local environmental programs, manages a resource center for information, conducts training sessions for state officials and industry representatives, researches innovative and source reduction strategies and techniques, and coordinates joint policy and program development.

OSU (Oregon State University)-Integrated Plant Protection Center -- Conducts workshops and conferences, provides information and communication services, conducts environmental assessments, and provides technical assistance.

P2 Data Collection Tool Database -- The Northeast Waste Management Officials' Association (NEWMOA) online resource for P2 and environmental assistance programs to share their P2 data collection tools.  Tools include surveys, worksheets, self-certification forms, protocols and standard operating practices (SOPs) for P2 technical assistance visit follow-ups, quality management plans (QMPs), and checklists used by P2 programs to collect information from clients.  Users can search by industry sector or topic, type of P2 activity, or type of P2 data collection tool used.  Users can also add their own tools to the system.

P2Rx Resource Exchange -- The Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange (P2Rx™) is a consortium of eight regional pollution prevention information centers, funded in part through grants from EPA.  These centers provide pollution prevention information, networking opportunities and other services to States, local governments and technical assistance providers in their region. 

P2Tech -- From the Great Lakes Information Network, this is an information-sharing forum for pollution prevention technical assistance providers, which focuses on discussions of pollution prevention solutions to technical and engineering problems.  Site archives may be viewed at: www.great-lakes.net/lists/p2tech/.

Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center -- Nonprofit organization serving the states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, the province of British Columbia, as well as the rest of North America.  Works to protect public health, safety, and the environment by supporting projects that result in pollution prevention and toxics use elimination and reduction.

PBT Profiler - Persistent, Bioaccumulative, and Toxic Profiles Estimated for Organic Chemicals On-Line -- Designed to be an easy to use, widely available, no-cost tool to screen chemicals lacking experimental data in order to help identify pollution prevention opportunities.  This is a continuation of U.S. EPA's Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) Pollution Prevention Assessment Framework.

Peaks to Prairies-- Pollution Prevention Information Center (Networking Pollution Prevention Programs in EPA Region 8) -- Region 8 pollution prevention web page for the states of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.  Provides access to pollution prevention information, encourages collaboration among assistance providers, and provides referrals to pollution prevention experts throughout the region.  Funded by U.S. EPA and facilitated by Montana Pollution Prevention Program of the Montana State University Extension Service in Bozeman, Montana.

The Peer Resource Centers -- The Peer Resource Centers provide contact information by region.  The centers promote EMS competence and encourage government-to-government sharing and mentoring between public sector organizations.  Each Center supplies communities with technical expertise, field-tested tools, and support for EMS implementation.

Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program (PESP) -- Broad effort by U.S. EPA, USDA, and FDA to promote integrated pest management practices that reduce pesticide risk in agricultural and non-agricultural settings.   Partners are recognized for their commitment to environmental stewardship.

Pollution Prevention Best Practices Database -- U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) database that contains information about projects that may be of interest to the DOE P2 community.  DOE's Office of Environmental Policy and Assistance regularly evaluates pollution prevention projects from DOE and other federal agencies.

Pollution Prevention Grants and Funding -- EPA's Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics is responsible for overseeing several grant programs for tribes and states that promote pollution prevention through source reduction and resource conservation.

Pollution Prevention Regional Information Center (p2ric) -- Region 7 pollution prevention web page for the states of Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri.   Includes pollution prevention information such as databases, publications, consultants, calendar, providers, partners, and information about listservers and webboard communications.

Pollution Prevention Strategies for College Campuses: Case Study at University of Michigan -- 184-page report by a group of graduate students who conducted an environmental audit of their campus and two subprojects: detailed analyses and action plans for: 1) "greening" the business school, and 2) instituting a system for tracking hazardous chemicals purchased, used, stored, and disposed of on campus.  Includes suggestions for students wishing to undertake similar efforts at their own colleges.

  Practice Greenhealth -- Practice Greenhealth is the nation's leading membership and networking organization for institutions in the healthcare community that have made a commitment to sustainable, eco-friendly practices.  Members include hospitals, healthcare systems, businesses and other stakeholders engaged in the greening of healthcare to improve the health of patients, staff, and the environment.

Product Stewardship -- U.S. EPA web site on reducing the life cycle environmental effects of products.  Product and resource information is provided.

Project XL -- U.S. EPA's national pilot program that tests innovative ways to achieve better and more cost-effective public health and environmental protection.  Site-specific agreements with private facilities, multiple facilities, industry sectors, Federal facilities, communities, and states enable U.S. EPA to gather data and project experience that will help them to implement superior environmental innovate strategies.  As of January 2003, EPA is no longer accepting proposals for new XL projects.

(SWIX) -- Non-profit clearinghouse and repository for industry.  Includes information on:  market development, recycled products, solid/hazardous waste management, current regulations/legislation, waste management technologies, trade journals and associations, technical reports, availability/demand for waste materials, and waste management services and products.

Strategic Agricultural Initiative -- The mission of this U.S. EPA initiative is to support and promote environmentally sound agricultural and pest management practices across the U.S. that are economically viable and socially responsible.

Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP) -- Partnership between automobile original equipment manufacturers and their suppliers and the U.S. EPA.  SP creates new business-centered approaches to environmental protection.  SP provides a forum for small, mid-sized, and large automotive and vehicle suppliers to work together and share environmental best practices.

Sustainable Design and Green Building Toolkit for Local Governments -- U.S. EPA guide on sustainable design and green building for local governments.  The toolkit includes: who should use the toolkit, how the toolkit can help, how the assessment tool and resource guide works, how to complete the assessment tools and resource guide, how to develop an action plan, the sustainable design permitting assessment tool and resource guide, assessment summary, and creating an action plan.

Sustainable Hospitals Program (SHP) -- The Sustainable Hospitals Program provides technical support to the healthcare industry for selecting products and work practices that eliminate or reduce occupational and environmental hazards, maintain quality patient care, and contain costs.  They support and collaborate with healthcare institutions, clinicians, unions representing healthcare practitioners, students, and government, as well as environmental and healthcare advocacy groups.

Sustainable Manufacturing Initiative -- U.S. Department of Commerce initiative working towards incorporating all sustainable business-related programs and resources into a "Sustainable Business Clearinghouse."  The clearinghouse is designed to assist any U.S. firm in identifying the federal and state sustainability-related programs and resources that are relevant to its business model, and can assist in improving firm profitability and environmental sustainability.

Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) -- Located at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, TURI focuses on pollution prevention related to the use of toxic chemicals in the manufacturing process, rather than the treatment of wastes once they are produced.  The institute collaborates with diverse groups such as communities, businesses, institutions, and government and public entities to develop innovative ideas and share best policies.

Tribal P2 -- The National Pollution Prevention Roundtable Tribal Workgroup consists of environmental professionals from tribal entities; local, state, and federal agencies; academia; and not-for-profit organizations whose mission is to work collaboratively with tribes throughout the United States in reducing the environmental and health risks associated with the generation of waste in tribal lands.

U.S. EPA Climate Leaders/Corporate GHG Resources -- Voluntary industry-government partnership that encourages companies to develop long-term comprehensive climate change strategies and set greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals.  While this program officially ended in September 2011, tools developed for this program are available on the web site and new initiatives are being introduced.

U.S. EPA Climate Protection Partnerships -- Provides information on energy efficiency and pollution prevention programs (e.g., Green Lights, Energy Star, Methane Outreach), fact sheets, and publication listings.  Committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

U.S. EPA Environmental Management Systems -- Provides information and resources related to environmental management systems (EMS) for businesses, associations, the public, and state and federal agencies.  This web page contains links to key information about EPA's efforts to develop policies and related materials about EMS.

U.S. EPA Green Engineering -- Green Engineering is the design, commercialization, and use of processes and products that are feasible and economical while reducing the generation of pollution at the source and minimizing the risk to human health and the environment.

U.S. EPA Greener Products -- U.S. EPA portal that allows users to search for EPA programs related to greener products based on the type of user and their specific product interests.  Also links to other greener products information from EPA and other sources.

U.S. EPA Greenscapes -- Provides information about cost savings that can be achieved from reducing material use and waste, resource conservation, and on the performance and durability of environmentally preferable products when landscaping.  Educates land managers, publicizes case studies, promotes market expansion and growth of recycled content and biobased products, and award organizations that achieve excellence in these areas.  Greenscapes participants are either partners (businesses and agencies that will achieve pollution prevention results) or allies (supportive industry associations).  Example participants include landscape contractors, golf facilities, highway and street construction industry, parks and recreation operations, schools, hospitals, state/city/local governments, and industry associations.

U.S. EPA Green Suppliers Network -- EPA Pollution Prevention Program, collaborative venture between industry, EPA and the 360vu, the national account brand of the NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).  Works with all levels of the manufacturing supply chain to achieve environmental and economic benefits.  Includes information on technical reviews, lean & clean manufacturing practices, outreach, metrics, continuous improvement, removing obstacles, and partnerships.

U.S. EPA Partnership for Sustainable Heathcare -- EPA's Partnership for Sustainable Healthcare (PSH) evolved from the agency's previous partnership program, Hospitals for a Healthy Environment.  In February 2006, the original EPA parternship became a fully independent entity - a mark of its success in meeting its primary goal of virtually eliminating mercury waste from health-care facilities.

U.S. EPA - Pollution Prevention -- Provides access to information on pollution prevention initiatives, including:  technical assistance, information and publications, grants, environmental accounting, finance, environmental preferable products, regulations, voluntary programs, and success stories.

U.S. EPA - Product Stewardship -- Product stewardship is a product-centered approach to environmental protection.  It calls on those in the product lifecycle-manufacturers, retailers, users, and disposers-to share responsibility for reducing the environmental impacts of products.  This web site highlights the latest developments in product stewardship and provides numerous links to other sources of information.

U.S. EPA Sustainable Futures -- The goal of the Sustainable Futures Initiative (SF) is to make new chemicals safer, available faster, and at lower cost.  It works by giving chemical developers the same risk-screening models that EPA uses to evaluate new chemicals before they enter the market.

VendInfo (U.S. EPA and Waste Management and Research Center) -- National database of pollution prevention equipment, products, and services.

Voluntary Aluminum Industrial Partnership -- Voluntary innovative environmental stewardship pollution prevention program developed jointly by U.S. EPA and U.S. primary aluminum industries.  Companies in the program must make reductions in perfluorocarbon gas emissions (PFCs), potent greenhouse gases that remain in the atmosphere for thousands of years.

WasteWi$e -- U.S. EPA free, voluntary program that helps businesses identify and implement cost-effective measures to reduce solid waste through office recycling, manufacture of new products using recycled raw materials, and the procurement of recycled products.

WaterSense - An EPA Partnership Program -- U.S. EPA, Office of Water voluntary program that encouraged public and private organizations to reduce water consumption while increasing efficiency, profitability, and competitiveness.  WAVE focuses on finding practical, profitable solutions to managing water use.  WAVE is no longer a sign-up partnership program.  Information on their free water management software can be found at this web site.

WaterWiser (The Water Efficiency Clearinghouse) -- Cooperative project of the American Water Works Association, U.S. EPA, and U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.   Contains water efficiency and conservation information.

Western Sustainability and Pollution Prevention Network (WSPPN) -- Region 9 pollution prevention web page for states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada, as well as Tribal Lands and Trust Territories.   Includes Yellow Pages, pollution prevention resources, information aids, and internet resources.

World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) -- Global association of ~200 companies dealing exclusively with business and sustainable development.  The WBCSD provides a platform for companies to explore sustainable development, share knowledge and experience, and to advocate business positions on these issues in a variety of forums.

Zero Waste Network -- This center is part of the P2Rx organization and has pollution prevention resources by sector, web manual, grant guidance, over 476 searchable case studies, pollution prevention planning tools, and other information to help companies save money by reducing pollution.  Materials are focused on the EPA Region 6 and the US-Mexico Border.
